Twice A Texan, A Journey of Undoing

Set in the US during the stark and challenging 1930s era, the novel follows a proud young woman and her family whose lives are tested by personal misfortune amid the economic devastation of the Great Depression. Homeless and abandoned, Mary Gaines and her three children face the painful work of rebuilding their lives in a contrasting world that no longer resembles the one they left behind.

Spanning the landscapes of drought-stricken Texas ranch lands to the glittering promise of Southern California, my novel explores the contrasting mores of men and women adjusting from a tradition-bound rural farming community to the vibrant urbanity of Los Angeles. Through carefully researched historical detail, the novel captures both the grandeur and grit of 1930s America while telling a deeply personal story of loss and redemption.
