About

Jim is a California-based writer who spends his time making up stories about historical and science fiction. He can’t spell, but he can tell a good story and loves to write. After thirty years of writing and editing for industrial publications, he said good bye to life on the assembly line and started writing for himself.

He discovered he had a lot to write about; a Master’s in American History, a Viet Nam veteran, a high school teacher, technical writer, librarian, laborer, sailor, proud father and devoted husband.

His stories cover the gamut of human emotions; sometimes whimsical, occasionally tragic, but always entertaining and thought-provoking. And settings can be anywhere from outer space to the inner spaces of a feverish mind. He invites you to explore his imaginative worlds.

Jim and his prize-winning poet wife enjoy a small-town lifestyle near the San Francisco Bay area. His professional career has included military service, teaching, research librarian and technical writing. Jim is an active participant in his community’s literary organization, serving as a board member in a local nonprofit publisher, hosting prose workshops and mentoring writers. Jim’s stories have appeared in Datura Literary Journal, The Wapshott Press, Remington Review, Adelaide Books, Rochak Publishing and others.
